Trapped In The Lift

It was Good Friday. Danny had gone over to Adam’s house to finish their project. They were doing a project about smoking. “We have to finish our project before the nine of April,” said Danny. They took about two hours to finish their project. “At last, we have finished our project,” said Adam. “Oh no, my stomach is growling. Let’s have our lunch at the Banquet!” shouted Adam blissfully. “Adam, can you lend me some money? I forgot to bring mine!” asked Danny. “Ok,” said Adam.

As Adam stayed in the sixteenth floor, they took the lift as walking down the stairs is tiring. They entered the lift hurriedly. “Adam, let’s have some fun,” said Danny. “Fun?” Adam replied.” Yes, fun. We can press all the buttons in the lift. We can jump up and down, left and right,” shouted Danny gleefully. Adam replied, “I think it is a great idea!” They started pressing all the buttons. Then they started jumping up and down in high spirits.

Suddenly, the lift stopped moving. A minute later, the lights went off. The lift was so dim. Both Adam and Danny screamed at full volume. Soon Adam started crying. “I’m so scared, Danny. What are we going to do?” asked Adam nervously. “Don’t cry, Adam. We can press the emergency button.” replied Danny.

So, both of them pressed the emergency button. About half an hour later, the civil defence officers came. They saved Adam and Danny. They warned them not to play in the lift. Both of them hung their head in shame. They promised not to repeat this silly mistake
again.
